1940s Collins Street

MI_1319

A photo of the south side of Collins Street, showing the beautiful architecture in the 1940s from Russell Street down to King Street. In the far distance we see the tower of the T&G Life Building on the corner of Russell Street. Nearest to the photographer on the right are the beautiful Federal Buildings, nestled up against the amazing Federal Hotel, sited on the corner of King Street. Across King Street is the Robb's Building, which is another example of fine architecture. Just a bit further to the east is the magnificent Rialto, surrounded by a number of astonishing edifices that thankfully still stand today.
