A beautiful panorama of Melbourne taken in 1917. On the left is the eastern end of Flinders Street, and on the far right is the western part of Flinders Street. Coming around from left to right, we can see the extensive railway yards, the River Yarra, Government House, Princes Bridge, then Flinders Street Station, with Princes Bridge Station in the lower section. See the legend photo for more landmarks and infrastructure.

Notes from the State Library state that this is an "Elevated view looking from roof diagonally opposite Flinders Street Railway Station, rail yards on left, Government House and Botanical Gardens in centre, Flinders Street Railway Station on right with South Melbourne in background, Yarra River behind, with trams and horse and carts on Flinders Street and St. Kilda Road."
