A beautiful photo of Russell Street looking north from Collins Street. The photo was taken from the roof of the newly-completed Cromwell House building on the south-east corner of Collins and Russell Street, which was the residence and rooms of Doctor J. G. Beaney.

Notes from the State Library tell us that this image is a "Photograph of Russell Street, Melbourne looking north from Collins, ca. 1880. Horsedrawn wagons travel down middle of street and churches are on both corners, right and l.l. and building c.l. reads: "55-57 / T. Smith / Lithographer & General Printer." Inscribed on picture in white ink: "Russell St. from Dr. Beaney's" (l.l) and "C. Nettleton photo." (l.r.)."
