A photograph from 1874 of Collins Street, looking east from Stephen Street (renamed as Exhibition Street around 1880).
At the end of the street we see the beautiful Treasury Building, completed in 1862. On the left is Trump's Hotel, known as the Civil Service Club Hotel, later to be remodelled and renamed as the Occidental Hotel. The three-storey building to its east is the building that houses the Melbourne Club. The three-storey building on the right is the beautiful Victoria Buildings.
