A beautiful image of Flinders Street Station taken in 1910, when the new station was the beating heart of Melbourne. The flag on the clock-tower is at half-mast, signifying the passing of King Edward VII in May.
Our restoration work on this image has taken many hours to achieve this end result. This is a pivotal image of Melbourne's most famous icon, in the period between when it was completed and the outbreak of World War I. We feel that we have given this image new life and made it more acceptable to the general public.

Our team of conservators have worked on a high resolution digital image in order to remove blemishes and artifacts such as stains, mould, scratches and damage caused by the handling of the original. We strive to provide authentic representations of the original work that are suitable for enlargements that retain the tones and character of the original.
