An amazing panorama of the Yarra taken in 1906, from the southern edge of the Snowden Gardens (now gone). We're looking north across the river Yarra, with Flinders Street running across the photo from left to right. Princes Bridge is to the right of the photo, and Flinders Street Station is undergoing its redevelopment, stretching from Princes Bridge out to the left of the photo.

Notes from the State Library state that this is a "Photograph of Princes Bridge, the Yarra River and surrounding buildings and gardens, Melbourne, ca. 1900. Pedestrians, horses and carts, and a tram are crossing the bridge towards the city centre. A sign (u.r.) reads: "The Age 500,000 readers daily." In l.r. corner: "Harvie & Sutcliffe, Bourke St., Melb.
